On October 1st, municipal elections are going to take place all over the country in Portugal. Some mayors and councillors will be re-elected and some won’t.

In an atmosphere of disinformation in which real facts relating to the ENI/Galp TUPEM licensing have been kept from the public, ASMAA was shocked to discover today that on 11 January this year, the outgoing director general of DGRM Miguel Sequeira signed the ENI/GALP deep offshore TUPEM authorisation licence, which effectively allows the consortium to start drilling in the Alentejo Basin.

This past week, on Tuesday 3 January, saw our beaches in the south coast of the Algarve polluted by palm oil. It started with the appearance of a white foam substance at sea, which quickly found its way onto the beaches of Ria Formosa islands of Armona, Deserta and Fuzeta, and was later identified as being palm oil.

ASMAA is planning on openning its first charity shop in the Algarve in the first quarter of 2017, to be located in the Lagos town. The shop will be a mix between a traditional charity shop and an Up-cycle shop. It is expected to be a meeting venue for patrons as well as an information hub.

Exercício de combate à poluição do mar, promovido pelo Serviço do Combate à Poluição do Mar da Autoridade Marítima Nacional. A decorrer em duas fases, terá lugar nos próximos dia 19 e 20 de outubro 2016, no Porto de Portimão e na Praia da Rocha.
